Christos Kellas

Christos Kellas is the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food and elected member of the Greek Parliament for Larissa, with Nea Demokratia. He is a MD anesthesiologist, who pursues his professional activity as a self-employed doctor. After receiving his degree from the Medical School of the University of Athens, he specialized in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Clinics of Munster and Cologne in Germany. He was Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the Technological Educational Institute of Larissa and elected representative of Larissa Medical Association to National Medical Association, as well as Vice President of Larissa Medical Association. Moreover, he served as President of the Organization of Social Policy and as Vice Mayor for administration, social policy, finance, Municipal Police and Citizens Serving Centers of the Municipality of Larissa. Mr. Kellas has been consecutively elected as a member of the Parliament for Larissa with Nea Demokratia since 2012, when he first ran for the office. After the elections of June 2023, he became President of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Educational Affairs, responsible for matters of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, as well as of these of the Ministry of Culture. Also, he became a member of the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, the Special Standing Committee on Environmental Protection and the Special Standing Committee on the penitentiary system and other incarceration structures. 

He speaks French and German. Μr Kellas is married and has two children.
